After the explosion, firefighters brought Britel to the emergency room where he was treated for his wounds. Britel suffered burns to the side of his abdomen as well as his fingers. In the clip you can even see that a part of Britel's coat was melted to his finger as he attempted to remove the device from his pocket.  。

Although it's still unclear what caused the malfunction, Britel believes that the battery made contact with coins in his pocket, which shorted the circuit and triggered the explosion. 。
