不過《郵報》指出 ，紐卡斯爾俱樂部也在接觸阿賈克斯主帥滕哈格 ，紐卡新老板願意為滕哈格提供1100萬英鎊的稅前年薪 。但如果曼聯解雇索爾斯克亞 ，也可能考慮邀請滕哈格執教，紐卡斯爾請來滕哈格的希望並不大 。
