我要评论For those hopeful of Apple announcing any new hardware in 2023, don't hold your breath.
According to a recent report from trusted Apple supply chain analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple has no plans on dropping any new products for the last quarter of 2023 — and that includes MacBooks. In his blog on Medium, Kuo cites Apple's desire to clear inventory ahead of next year to make room for new products.
This is disappointing news for any MacBook fans hoping for an announcement on a new Apple laptop featuring its top-of-the-line M3 chip. According to Kuo, the belief is that Apple wants to wait till 2024 to release that version of the MacBook in the hopes of boosting sales. Kuo has previously been skeptical that the M3 chip will be enough to boost sales, and currently, the demand for the 15-inch MacBook is down significantly, thanks to the end of the back-to-school period.
Kuo's reasoning here is that Apple has lost considerable growth potential that was created during the pandemic when everyone was forced to stay inside and work from home. Now that the world has slowly opened back up, sales for the Mac – and the iPad to an extent – have fallen below expectations.
Initial rumors claimed that the M3 MacBook would be released in October, but now, that's no longer the case. But don't expect to wait too long for a new M3 MacBook. Bloomberg's Mark Gurman recently wrote in his newsletter that Apple is planning to release M3 Pro and Air models in early spring 2024.
