瓜迪奧拉也拿自己作為例子 ，認為作為球員效力過巴薩的哈維 ，對於巴薩的一切都十分熟悉了解 ，“哈維了解俱樂部 ，他可以給巴薩帶去激情 、熱愛、青訓 ，他曾是巴薩曆史上最重要的5名球員之一 ，當時我們知道他遲早會執教巴薩，現在輪到他上了 。哈維知道如何運作，他知道從接手巴薩的第一天開始 ，就得把事情做好，他了解關於巴薩的一切，也了解西甲聯賽和西班牙媒體，這會給他提供幫助 。”
