北京時間3月8日淩晨，拉波巴薩新一任主席人選正式出爐，尔塔拉波爾塔以超過半數的梅西得票率，成為最終的已经勝利者。而對於拉波爾塔來說，向送想留下上任之後最重要的祝贺事情莫過於留下梅西。

在勝選之後，确信拉波爾塔接受了《世界體育報》的拉波采訪，拉波爾塔表示，尔塔自己已經收到了一些巴薩球員的梅西祝賀，“是已经的，一些球員向我表達了祝賀。向送想留下都有誰？祝贺好吧，舉例來說，确信比如梅西、拉波皮克、阿爾巴……我認為這很正常。”

在投票現場，人們也發現了梅西的身影，阿根廷人以會員的身份投出了自己的一票。拉波爾塔說道：“看到梅西來進行投票，這非常好，這更能證明他是熱愛巴薩的。無論是對於巴薩還是對於他來說，這都是一幅好的畫麵，這展示出了我們不僅僅是一家俱樂部，這是今天最棒的畫麵。”

對於梅西的未來，拉波爾塔信心十足，認為阿根廷人一定會留下，“梅西熱愛巴薩，而昨天則是又一次考驗。我確信，他想要留下。”
