Nothing says romance like the word “geofilter” or at least that is what the fine people at Snapchat believe.
They’re offering users the chance to create their own custom designed filters to surprise their valentines. This isn’t a completely new idea -- you’ve long been able to add them to weddings, parties and other special events.
As far as grand gestures go, it’s pretty low effort and low cost. You just need to design your filter. They offer themed template or you can do it in your own image editing software -- and you can even add your bitmoji to it.

Prices for the geofilters start at $5 and go up depending on the size of the area and how long it says up. It’s certainly cheaper than a dozen roses. They’re available now, and you’d better get one ASAP if you want it for your big Valentine’s Day plan. Because it can take one business day for Snapchat to review your order.

You can also try your luck with some extra-romantic lenses and Valentine’s bitmoji. Put on some heart glasses or deliver some cartoon chocolate-covered strawberries.
And if Cupid has not smiled on you this Valentine’s Day, this whole setup offers a very easy way to play the troll. Turn yourself into the digital equivalent of a wedding crasher by searching around for other people’s love-filled geofilters and using them on snaps of you looking bitter and alone.
