胡爾克接受采訪時表示：“去年年初我離開中國後 ，胡尔获包括本菲卡 、克热馬競、中超证貝斯克塔斯等俱樂部都有意請我去踢球 。太久後來門德斯打電話給我 ，无法說他已經和當時熱刺的劳工主帥穆裏尼奧談過 ，問我是胡尔获否想到英格蘭踢球 。但我無法拿到英國的克热勞工證 ，按照它的中超证申請標準 ，如果在一定時期內我被巴西國家隊征召 ，或在五大聯賽踢球都會獲得積分，但在那之前我在中國度過了很長一段時間 ，期間也沒有參加過巴西國家隊的比賽。後來我的律師嚐試申請勞工證的特批 ，但沒有成功 。雖然貝西克塔斯給我開出的條件很好，但我和家人商議後還是決定回巴西踢球 。”
