默郡警方發言人表示：“我們可以證實 ，惹麻入证關於球迷在埃弗頓主場VS曼聯比賽中被襲事件 ，烦警方介警方正與曼聯和埃弗頓保持聯係 。实男有報道稱 ，孩被在球員準備離場時 ，曼联一名客隊球員襲擊了一名男孩。袭击我們敦促任何了解相關信息的惹麻入证人與警方聯係 。”
結合此前的烦警方介報道 ，襲擊球迷的实男曼聯球員是C羅 。某埃弗頓球迷賬號的視頻顯示，在走進球員通道時 ，C羅疑似一巴掌將一名球迷的手機拍打在了地上 。在視頻中 ，C羅有一個明顯的彎腰向下發力的動作 ，可見葡萄牙人對於本場比賽的結果是有多麽的不滿 。
隨後C羅也在社媒發文道歉：“困難時刻的情緒管理總是不容易 ，我想為我的爆發道歉 ，如果可能的話 ，我想邀請這位球迷來老特拉福德看比賽，以作為公平競爭和體育精神的象征。”
