在熱刺0-3不敵曼聯的英媒幾天後 ，熱刺高層迅速做出決定 ，热刺仍主帥努諾正式被解雇下課 ，按月這位葡萄牙籍主帥才剛剛執教球隊四個月。支付暂據《每日電訊報》報道 ，努诺熱刺雖然解雇了努諾 ，薪水但不會選擇以一次性支付解約金的解约金形式 ，而是英媒仍會繼續按月支付努諾月薪 ，對此《每日電訊報》表示，热刺仍熱刺將會讓努諾以“休園藝假”的按月形式繼續與球隊保持聯係 。
值得一提的支付暂是 ，熱刺在過去兩年內已三度換帥 ，努诺而此前兩任主帥的薪水下課均是以列維支付解約金的形式告終 ，包括2019年支付1250萬鎊解雇波切蒂諾 ，解约金也包括今年4月以1500萬鎊（注：另一版本為1600萬鎊）解雇穆帥。英媒這一次列維終於感受到了荷包吃緊的壓力 ，選擇“緩期”支付違約金解雇努諾即是例證 。
現年47歲的努諾在今年7月上任熱刺主帥 ，盡管帶隊8月全勝拿下英超月最佳教練 ，但努諾隨後的帶隊戰績光速墜落 ，他們10輪過後取得5勝5負的成績 ，以15分位列聯賽中遊 ，球隊不僅連續4場輸掉倫敦德比，同時在坐擁孫興慜&凱恩的情況下10輪僅僅打進9球，進球數位列英超倒二 ，這樣的糟糕戰績也就不難理解列維即便是采用不體麵的“園藝假”形式 ，也要解雇努諾了。
