北京時間3月22日 ，皇马據西班牙媒體《馬卡報》報道稱，已联用本皇馬為了將“FIFA病毒”的系各协影響降至最低 ，已經開始啟動公關和外交程序 ，国足告並且與各國足協進行溝通 ，不过提醒他們不要過多使用皇馬球員 ，度使队球尤其是皇马克羅斯和莫德裏奇兩名大將。
國際比賽日即將到來 ，已联用本部分需要參加國家隊比賽的系各协皇馬球員將前往各自國家隊報到 。由於傷病以及世界杯南美區預選賽的国足告延期 ，此次皇馬隊內被國家隊征召的不过人數比以往要少 。隻有庫爾圖瓦 、度使队球瓦拉內 、皇马費蘭-門迪、已联用本拉莫斯 、系各协莫德裏奇 、克羅斯和盧寧入選了各自國家隊 。
《馬卡報》表示，皇馬高層已經向各國足協表明了球員參加此次國家隊比賽所要承擔的利害關係 ，以及當國際比賽日結束後，皇馬球員回歸時將麵臨的緊密賽程 。皇馬希望自己的球員在國家比賽日期間不要被過多使用，因為在7天內需要打三場世預賽 ，因此皇馬主動聯係各國足協進行溝通 。
其中 ，克羅斯和莫德裏奇的情況最受關注 ，這兩名中場大將無論是在各自國家隊 ，還是在皇馬都是絕對主力。本賽季到目前為止 ，克羅斯各項賽事為皇馬出場35次 ，打進2球 ，助攻9次；莫德裏奇各項賽事為皇馬出場了36次 ，打進4球 ，助攻5次。主帥齊達內希望在接下來的國際比賽日期間 ，克羅斯和莫德裏奇在各自的國家隊都能得到適當的輪換。
