北京時間11月18日 ，英媒據英國《太陽報》的索帅丧報道，曼聯主帥索爾斯克亞拒絕從帥位上辭職 ，拒绝即便是联辞有些年長的球員已經對他的戰術布置失去了信任 。
《太陽報》表示 ，职对索爾斯克亞確信他能夠扭轉曼聯的努力頹勢 ，並且不會選擇從老特拉福德球場離開 。没被此前 ，而沮索爾斯克亞利用國際比賽日的英媒機會回到挪威休整，而在本周 ，索帅丧索帥帶著全新的拒绝心情重新投入到了曼聯的工作中 。
自10月份至今，联辞曼聯的职对戰績糟糕 ，7戰隻取得2勝2平3負的努力成績 ，更是没被有過2-4萊斯特城 、0-5利物浦這樣的慘敗，此外還0-2不敵同城對手曼城 。目前英超11輪戰罷，曼聯5勝2平4負積17分，在積分榜上排名第6 ，距離榜首的切爾西已有9分之多。
但即便如此 ，索爾斯克亞依舊相信，曼聯距離重新奪得冠軍榮譽並不遠 。在回到卡靈頓基地後 ，索帥試圖立即提升隊內的情緒和氛圍 ，以化解掉過去12場比賽中輸掉6場的消極情緒 。
不過索帥也有自己的委屈 ，《太陽報》指出 ，雖然索爾斯克亞接受自己的工作要被一場接一場的考核 ，但他仍然對自己三年來的工作成果未被認可感到沮喪。因為就在幾個月前，曼聯還在上賽季的英超聯賽中獲得了亞軍 。
