11月1日，国足高中國足協官方宣布 ：經與各方協商並報亞足聯批準，欲延2022卡塔爾世界杯亞洲區預選賽最終階段B組第五輪中國隊與阿曼隊 、续出线希需赢第六輪中國隊與澳大利亞隊的望月比賽 ，將分別於11月11日、场求11月16日在阿聯酋沙迦舉行 。澎湃開球時間待確定後公布 。国足高

事實上 ，以中國足球目前的整體水平 ，所能爭取的最好成績也就是小組第三名。
而現在李鐵和他的球隊也需要盡可能把理論上出線希望延續下去 ，一旦11月兩場比賽全敗，中國隊基本上就將提前宣告出局，明年最後四場12強賽將進入垃圾時間。
想要延續理論上出線希望 ，中國隊11月兩場比賽至少需要取勝1場，最好是兩場比賽拿到4-6分 ，這對於國足提出了很高的要求。
