據悉 ，球场群在這次坍塌事件中 ，看台有超過200人受傷 。坍塌根據警方的調查顯示，看台之所以坍塌 ，主要原因是在於此看台是由竹竿搭建的臨時看台 。比賽當時 ，由於雨水的侵襲和過度超重 ，進而引發了坍塌事件 。據悉 ，在比賽當中，臨時看台上承載了超過2000名觀眾 ，但看台可以允許的觀眾數為1000人 。
警方表示，坍塌事件發生在當地時間的晚間9點左右。當時 ，該場地正在進行一場7人製足球賽決賽，對陣的雙方是兩支當地球隊 。
據悉 ，所有的受傷者都被送往了附近的醫院救治 ，受傷者中幸運地沒有出現傷勢較重的人 。但後續的報道中也有消息稱 ，有5人的傷勢較重 。
