由於疫情和國足踢世預賽12強賽的开赛關係 ，新賽季的目标中超賽程遲遲沒有確定 ，從原計劃的打满4月23日到5月1日 ，再從5月1日到5月上旬 ，轮和最新的年内消息顯示 ，如果一切順利的完赛話 ，新賽季中超有望在5月7日開打 ，新赛34輪聯賽依然會在2022年內全部完成 。季中
隨著新賽季啟動時間的超或推遲 ，18支中超球隊可能要麵臨著比過去兩年更加“魔鬼”的月日賽程 。由於“打滿34輪”和“2022年內完賽”兩個大的开赛目標暫時不變 ，中足聯籌備組隻能對賽程進一步壓縮 ，再加上足協杯的比賽 ，而這也就意味著 ，一周雙賽的頻次會進一步增加 ，無論對教練還是球員來講 ，都將是巨大的考驗和挑戰 。
值得注意的是 ，隨著目前疫情的發展以及防控的需要，不排除中超聯賽繼續延期的可能。
