But when you're paying for something you've only seen in a tiny thumbnail image, there's always the potential for mishap.

Well, according to this 2010 article on Highsnobiety(which features a picture of the same footwear), Dr. Martens once created a shoe specially for the Royal Mail (known as a "Postman Shoe").

Still, the whole thing could've been worse.
