“近年來,中國電影變化很大,讓我覺得非常欣慰 。用觀眾喜聞樂見的心好方式展現主旋律故事,配以精良的製作,能讓主旋律電影兼顧商業性與藝術性 。”唐季禮回憶,故事當年拍《警察故事》和《紅番區》,為了獲得更大的市場,必須要走出去,到東南亞 、到歐美 。唐季“我們在電影中用了一些觀眾喜聞樂見的礼电元素,比如中國功夫 。中國功夫裏麵蘊含著中國人的影走武德,以及愛國 、愛家的出去精神 。當然,心好我們不能死板地在電影裏講述這種精神,而是要尋找讓全世界老百姓都能接受的方式,所以選擇了動作喜劇這種形式。”唐季禮表示,故事以商業的外殼,融入主旋律的思想,是自己當年摸索出來的經驗。
在談到將於大年初一上映的新片《急先鋒》時,唐季禮表示,《急先鋒》也是以家國情懷為主題的一部主旋律動作喜劇電影,自己和成龍合作多年,希望這一次也能獲得觀眾的認可 。此外,礼电唐季禮也很關注中國年輕演員的成長,希望有更多的中國演員能走向世界 。“電影走出去,影走核心是有好故事,演員是故事的載體,他們通過飾演角色將故事演繹出來。觀眾接受這個角色,也就接受這部電影 。”唐季禮補充說,“所以,我認為中國還需要培養更多國際化的演員 。這也是我一直努力的方向 。”
