據此前媒體報道稱，阿根廷檢方發現 ，負責馬拉多納健康的醫療團隊工作輕率魯莽，沒有給馬拉多納提供適當和足夠的照料 ，根據阿根廷相關法律法規 ，這7名醫護人員涉嫌因間接意圖導致他人死亡 ，有可能麵臨8至25年的監禁 。此外 ，馬拉多納前律師莫拉近日表示 ，馬拉多納的死亡是醫療事故 。
馬拉多納於2020年11月25日去世 ，享年60歲。今年10月30日 ，是馬拉多納61歲誕辰 ，他的女兒和兒子相繼在社交媒體上發文緬懷這位阿根廷球王 。
