北京時間9月6日淩晨 ，巴西世預賽南美區 ，阿根巴西對陣阿根廷的廷名比賽因為巴西防疫部門的介入而被迫腰斬 。據悉 ，入境這是申报因為阿根廷陣中4名從英格蘭趕來的球員違反了巴西當下的防疫規定 。對此 ，造假巴西衛生部官員Antonio Barra Torres在接受采訪時，违规也對比賽被腰斬一事進行了解釋 。离开
他說道 ：“昨晚 ，酒店我們發現有4名來自英國的巴西阿根廷球員在申報時造假 ，他們沒有提到曾逗留英國 。阿根那4名阿根廷球員之前已經收到通知 ，廷名他們需要在酒店保持隔離 ，入境直到被驅逐出境。申报但他們卻去到了球場 ，造假還上場比賽 ，這一係列行為都是違規的 。我們此前已經警告過他們 ，在被安排出境之前禁止離開酒店 。”
巴西規定入境之前14天內曾在英國、南非、印度逗留的遊客 ，必須在抵達巴西後隔離14天 。
