對此李霄鵬在接受采訪時也談了自己的看法 ，他呼籲媒體和球迷給予中國男足更多的包容和理解 。“在中國的體育大家庭裏 ，中國男足應該是比較特殊的一支隊伍 ，就像兒子一樣 ，可能不太爭氣 ，有時候還會添點麻煩 ，但所有中國男足的球員和教練還是比較努力 ，想把這個事情做好，鞭策 ，或者是指責 ，這都沒有問題 ，但希望對現在的中國男足來說 ，還是多一些包容和理解 。”（搜狐體育 裴力）
