孫興慜表示 ：“我真的长途很興奮，在英格蘭每次有熱愛足球的旅行劳累球迷來現場支持加油助威 ，對我們來說都是都借一種嶄新的體驗。能在許多韓國球迷麵前踢球也是孙兴一種很棒的體驗 。兩年時間很長，国征我們等了很久 ，战种我想球迷也一定是荣幸如此 ，我們一定不要讓他們失望 。长途來到這裏代表韓國國家隊一直是旅行劳累一種榮幸 ，長途旅行的都借勞累都是借口 。我們必須為球迷和比賽做好準備 。孙兴”
由於俱樂部的日程安排，孫興慜在昨天才抵達國家隊報道 ，相較其他海外球員他的歸隊時間較晚 ，韓媒稱孫興慜隻有一天的調整休息時間。
