The rumors were right: Apple's first augmented reality headset, the Apple Vision Pro, will be available in the U.S. on February 2.
The company announced the news on January, saying the Vision Pro will be available at all US Apple Store locations and Apple's online store. Pre-order starts on Friday, Jan. 19, at 5 a.m. PT (9 a.m. ET).

Apple CEO Tim Cook tweeted about the announcement saying that the "era of spatial computing has arrived."
"Apple Vision Pro is the most advanced consumer electronics device ever created. Its revolutionary and magical user interface will redefine how we connect, create, and explore," he added in a press release.
The price for the Apple Vision Pro hasn't changed; it's still $3,499 with 256GB of storage. Zeiss optical inserts, which magnetically attach to Vision Pro, will be available to people with a prescription for $149, or as readers for $99.
The Vision Pro will come with a number of accessories, including the battery, the USB-C charging cable and power adapter, a Solo Knit Band and a Dual Loop Band, a Light Seal, two Light Seal Cushions, and an Apple Vision Pro Cover for the front of the device.

The Vision Pro headset has been announced during Apple's WWDC in June 2023. It's Apple's first true step into the virtual/augmented reality space, and while it is pricy, it does come with hardware that's ahead of other headsets, including two micro-OLED displays with a total of 23 million pixels, Apple's M2 chip inside, a new chip called R1 that processes the input from the headset's 12 cameras, and a new eye-scanning system, called Optic ID, that takes care of security.
The Vision Pro runs on an entirely new platform called VisionOS, and will have a multitude of apps and games ready at launch.
