按照目前計劃 ，本賽季中超聯賽最快將於12月27日落幕。足協杯餘下各輪次賽事將在中超聯賽落幕後進行 ，意味著杯賽將鐵定跨年完賽 ，預計完賽時間約為明年1月15日 。目前 ，中國足協 、中足聯籌備組也在積極聯係相關賽區 。受天氣及其它客觀因素影響 ，足協杯賽事亦有可能集中在個別賽區內進行，賽區也大概率會安排在氣候相對適宜的南方城市 。
