May is National Masturbation Month, and we're celebrating withFeeling Yourself, a series exploring the finer points of self-pleasure.

Having an image permanently immortalized on your flesh vessel is a big decision. What will you go for? Some delicate, detailed floral patches? Your mom's name?

Or how about something a bit more saucy?

But masturbation-themed tattoos are a relatively recent subset of tattoos that, when done tastefully, can be cheeky and sexy in the best of ways. They're an ode to self-love without the brazen aura sex tattoos usually give off (alerting everyone in the vicinity that "this person fucks").

The most successful ones are confidently sex positive. The worst enter into "think about the eyes of your future grandchildren" territory. We've waded through a lot of horny ink to give you the best, most erotic self-pleasure tats around.

(Note: Most of these tattoos are of vaginas. No shade to thepeniout there, this just seems to be a general tattoo trend. They're also mostly NSFW.)

1. "I'll love me enough for both of us."

2. Now, that's what I call a graphic novel.

10. Two hands are better than one.

11. Help me, help you.

12. Very Georgia O'Keeffe vibes here

13. Well, that's one way to do it.

14. Talk about self-L-O-V-E.

15. Fun in the sun

16. Take a hit and enjoy yourself.

17. ...Sure.

18. Romeo + Juliet
