根據中國足協關於俱樂部名稱非企業化的申花首次绶带赛季相關要求 ，上海申花足球俱樂部已於2021年2月完成了名稱的发布變更工作 ，同時俱樂部的新版隊徽也將在原有基礎上做相應調整 。
目前使用的队徽隊徽是俱樂部於2014年通過社會征集 ，並最終由申花球迷共同參與設計完成 。加入2014年版隊徽基於申花曆史上的荣誉隊徽整合而成 ，主體是正式象征上海市花白玉蘭的盾形 ，左上角是启用象征狂放的豹頭 ，整個隊徽的申花首次绶带赛季顏色基調為深受廣大球迷認可的紅白藍 ，並首次加入了象征榮譽的发布綬帶 ，綬帶上的新版文字體現了綠地集團的元素 ，其中複古足球寓意申花隊的队徽前身 ，成立於1953年的加入上海足球隊 。
此次新版隊徽將延續之前的荣誉版本，僅在局部位置做細微的正式調整 。綬帶正中字樣調整為上海的拚音SHANGHAI，與兩邊的複古足球合為一體 ，同時與正上方申花的拚音SHENHUA上下呼應，寓意著“上海申花”的傳承與發展 。
俱樂部新版隊徽已通過中國足協準入部門審核 ，將於2022賽季正式啟用 。
