The tech industry likes to make lists: the jobs that pay the most, the best companies to work for, the companies that pay the most.
Despite all the conversation surrounding diversity and discrimination in Silicon Valley, those lists rarely account for the different results employees actually encounter based on their identities.
Comparably has a new list out that breaks down exactly what employees in the tech industry are making based on gender and race.
SEE ALSO:5 times it's actually OK to break the rules at workThe jobs site analyzed anonymized salary records from 30,000 workers in its database submitted between March 2016 and August 2017. Then the site found the average salaries for each role and the average salaries for each role by race and gender.
Across industries, women earn about 80 cents for every man's dollar. Black women earn 67 cents for that dollar and Hispanic women earn about 60 cents.
