因此 ，雙方才會一拍即合 。朗尼克先救火半年 ，執教曼聯至本賽季末。期間 ，他也將協助俱樂部尋覓合適的主帥人選 。一旦波切蒂諾或者其他名帥願意執教曼聯，那麽朗尼克將讓出帥位 ，轉而退居幕後 ，作為體育總監與其配合工作 。
《每日星報》分析 ，“曼聯仍然專注於聘請波切蒂諾作為下一任正式主帥 ，而如果波切蒂諾上任 ，朗尼克將作為俱樂部有史以來第一位體育總監以顧問身份與他一起工作 。”
