日前 ，国足亞足聯在執委會上宣布 ：亞冠聯賽和亞足聯杯將從下賽季改為跨年度 ，或推会晚即2023年-2024年 。迟赶自2023-2024賽季起 ，赴西參賽球隊的亚时于月外援名額也從“3+1”改為“5+1” ，即不限國籍的日出五名外籍球員和一名來自亞足聯會員協會的球員 。亞足聯俱樂部參賽球隊注冊人數將從目前的国足30人增加到35人 。此外 ，或推会晚亞足聯還批準了競賽委員會關於修改停賽規則的迟赶提議 ，即本賽季在亞足聯旗下的赴西同一賽事中 ，一位球員吃到三張黃牌才會停賽一場 。亚时于月2022賽季的日出亞冠聯賽仍采取傳統的春季-秋季單年度賽製，但考慮到卡塔爾世界杯11月舉行，国足本賽季亞冠決賽將推遲到2023年2月進行 。或推会晚
由於2021賽季中超球隊亞冠成績不佳 ，迟赶排名已降至了亞足聯第8位。故中超在2023~2024賽季正賽參賽名額將降至2+2個（2022賽季中超聯賽冠軍 、足協杯冠軍直接獲得下賽季亞冠正賽名額；聯賽第二三名將參加亞冠聯賽附加賽） 。如果本賽季中超俱樂部亞冠成績依然不佳 ，那麽不排除此後的亞冠正賽參賽名額會被進一步壓縮 。
此外 ，根據疫情防控要求 ，國足高層計劃把原定3月10日前往阿聯酋備戰12強賽的出發計劃往後推延，預計不會晚於3月17日 。
