北京時間12月18日 ，據《利物浦回聲報》報道 ，德比利物浦“太子”阿諾德在受訪時表示 ，起转自己寧願立刻馬上退役，联的立刻也不願意轉會加盟曼聯 。选项
當被問及願意轉會曼聯還是马上願意退役時 ，阿諾德堅定的退役表示 ：“我會選擇立刻馬上退役 。我不可能加盟曼聯 。阿诺”
而當被問及是德比更願意征戰默西塞德德比還是征戰西北德比的時候 ，阿諾德則是起转投了曼聯一票 ：“從曆史角度來看的話 ，與曼聯之間的联的立刻比賽或許更重要 。我會選擇對陣曼聯，选项因為這場比賽無疑會吸引更多球迷來觀看 。马上”
