而《太陽報》還指出 ，盡管秘魯是排名南美區第五的球隊 ，但智利卻會獲得遞補參加世界杯的資格 ，這頗有當初俄羅斯遭到禁賽，意大利媒體認為作為未進入世界杯中國際足聯排名最高的球隊 ，意大利將獲得遞補資格的意味 。
