FIFA官方並沒有確定重賽時間地點 ，阿根據名記梅爾羅透露，廷重停赛這場比賽很可能會在六月份進行重賽 ，赛阿诉比賽場地則由巴西主場改為中立場地 。人遭阿根廷和巴西都要在今夏提前備戰卡塔爾世界杯 ，追加這場重賽倒是個相當不錯的真刀實槍的練兵機會。
被罰款25萬瑞士法郎 ，此外還有4名球員被停賽兩場 ，這讓阿根廷隊完全無法接受。雖然阿根廷已經提前拿到了世界杯門票 ，這些球員的停賽並不會影響球隊晉級前景 ，但阿根廷仍然希望他們能多踢國家隊比賽以便進行磨合 。在被FIFA開出這張罰單之後，阿根廷足協官方已經提交了上訴 。阿根廷足協官方認為 ，這個判罰結果不符合事實和法律規定 。阿根廷足協要求紀律委員會向其提供法律支持，他們會一如既往地捍衛阿根廷足協和阿根廷球員 。迄今為止 ，巴西足協尚未對此做出官方回應 。
