北京時間17日淩晨，爆棚败追早已經獲得世界杯正賽資格的法国法國客場對戰芬蘭 ，最終高盧雄雞2-0完勝對手 ，连续录結束了整個世預賽的场正比賽 。需要指出的赛不史纪是 ，加上這場比賽，平队法國隊已經連續27場比賽保持不敗（不包括點球大戰） ，状态這也追平了22年前的爆棚败追紀錄 。

而加上這場勝利 ，法國已經連續27場比賽保持不敗 ，這也追平了隊史1994年到1999年間連續27場不敗的紀錄。在這27場比賽中，法國贏球19次 ，平球8次 。
