哈蘭德現年21歲 ，德确他與姆巴佩被外界視為“梅羅”的认加接班人 。此前 ，城转多特前鋒哈蘭德的签约未來一直是足壇關注的焦點 ，皇馬 、名记盟巴薩 、哈兰会费拜仁等多家豪門都有意引進這名挪威鋒霸 。德确值得一提的是 ，哈蘭德的經紀人是此前因病去世的拉伊奧拉 。在拉伊奧拉去世之後 ，哈蘭德轉會一事交由他人主導 ，最終財大氣粗的藍月軍團在此次角逐中勝出。
曼城陣中不乏大牌球星 ，但自阿根廷球星阿圭羅狀態下滑以及離隊之後 ，球隊前場一直缺乏一個一錘定音的鋒霸。2021-22賽季歐冠半決賽，曼城被皇馬淘汰出局 ，一大原因就是門前把握機會能力欠佳 ，哈蘭德的加盟或許能彌補曼城這一弱點 。
