北京時間12月7日 ，據《太陽報》報道 ，联选紐約紅牛現任主帥斯特魯伯拒絕曼聯，助教遭心這位奧地利人並不願意成為朗尼克的也难仪目助手 。
《太陽報》上周爆料，题已曼聯在朗尼克到崗後 ，标明迅速為其尋找合適的选帅助理教練人選 ，並就此接洽了這位紐約紅牛主帥 。联选
現年44歲的助教遭心奧地利人斯特魯伯是朗尼克的密友 ，他們曾一起在薩爾茨堡紅牛共事 ，也难仪目彼時斯特魯伯是题已青年隊教練 ，而朗尼克則是标明足球總監 。
現在 ，选帅按照英媒爆料 ，联选斯特魯伯已經明確拒絕了來自曼聯的助教遭心邀約，選擇繼續留在大聯盟任教 ，理由是奧地利人並不願意從主教練的崗位降格到助理教練的崗位上去 。
曼聯也並不願意支付高額的補償費用 ，因為這明顯是一次“沒有未來的”短期行為 ，朗尼克在曼聯的執教生涯目前來看也隻有半年而已 。斯特魯伯與紐約紅牛的合同期則還有兩年 。
斯特魯伯在接受采訪時明確的給出了回應 ：“的確有人提到了此事 。這不是什麽秘密 ，我和朗尼克互相有足夠的了解 ，我們彼此也很欣賞 。”
“但我人在紐約 ，我對在這裏的未來充滿希望 ，所以我不會在一夜之間放棄這裏 。我在這裏有一份長期合同 ，我們有一支雄心勃勃的隊伍 ，我還有很多目標有待達成 。
