馬拉多納於2020年11月25日在阿根廷去世，医疗享年60歲 ，人员人當時他正在接受神經外科手術。遭起負責該手術的诉涉失杀醫生以及馬拉多納的家庭醫生和精神方麵的醫生目前正在接受調查 ，他們是法媒負責馬拉多納健康的主要人員。
此外還有5名相關醫護人員也被指控 ，马拉檢方表示他們有“過失殺人罪”的多纳傾向 ，就是相关嫌过明知會導致死亡的情況下 ，依然疏忽大意 ，医疗據悉這些人將麵臨8-25年的人员人監禁 。該案件將在布宜諾斯艾利斯北郊的遭起聖伊西德羅開庭 。
此前，馬拉多納的私人律師馬蒂亞斯-莫拉在社交網絡發表公開信 ，批評護理人員玩忽職守 ：“我的朋友在12個小時之內一直沒有得到有關人員的照顧 。”這引發了媒體的關注，也開始仔細審視馬拉多納去世過程中存在的疑問 。
