The TV deities are smiling onAmerican Gods-- Starz has given a Season 2 renewal to Bryan Fuller and Michael Green's modern-day fable two weeks after the show premiered.
Based on Neil Gaiman's beloved novel of the same name, American Godshas earned more than five million multiplatform viewers for its first two episodes to date, according to Starz, with the first episode setting a premiere record for the network in live-plus 7 ratings with 1.6 million viewers.
Carmi Zlotnik, president of programming for Starz, said, “Bryan Fuller, Michael Green and Neil Gaiman have evolved the art form of television narratively, structurally and graphically with American Gods, and we’re thrilled to be working again with these artists as they continue to build the worlds and wars of the gods.”
American Godsairs Sundays at 9 p.m. on Starz.
