對於此前的比賽 ，韓喬生也進行了評論，他表示：“1月28日淩晨 ，另一場12強賽 ，沙特男足1:0擊敗阿曼男足 ，積分達到19分 ，繼續穩居小組第一。這個小組大局已定 ，沙特隊 、日本隊 、澳大利亞隊競爭小組前三 ，沙特隊領先澳大利亞隊5分 ，以及甩開日本隊4分，下一輪沙特隊客場對陣日本隊 ，隻要取勝 ，即可甩開日本隊7分，提前兩輪鎖定小組前二 ，隊史第6次晉級世界杯決賽圈 。對比沙特隊 ，國足表現沒有改善，積分落後人家14分。本輪0:2完敗日本隊後 ，落後出線區9分 ，幾乎沒有希望 ，下一輪隻要澳大利亞隊拿分 ，將送國足提前兩輪無緣世界杯 。這也意味著，2月1日大年初一晚8點，客場與越南的比賽將成為國足的“榮譽之戰” 。”（DD）
