在上周末進行的西媒向曼系英超第8輪比賽中 ，曼聯在客場2-4不敵萊斯特城 ，罗联推最近三輪聯賽1平2負 ，荐齐在積分榜上已經下滑到了第6的达内得联位置 ，主帥索爾斯克亞背負了巨大的红魔壓力 。
最近幾天 ，已和英國媒體也在不斷熱炒曼聯換帥的西媒向曼系消息 ，從名聲響亮的罗联推孔蒂、齊達內 ，荐齐到實力派教頭朗尼克 ，达内得联再到少壯派的红魔納格爾斯曼 ，《每日電訊報》甚至還玩票性質地將C羅也列到了曼聯新帥的已和候選名單當中 。
在這些人選當中 ，西媒向曼系齊達內毫無疑問是罗联推眾人最為期待的主帥之一 。而據西班牙六台的荐齐消息，曼聯也在C羅的推薦下聯係了這名法國教頭 。
齊達內與C羅曾在皇馬時期有過很好的合作 ，兩人一起幫助皇馬完成了歐冠三連冠的偉業 ，連續拿下2015-16 、2016-17 、以及2017-18賽季的三個歐冠冠軍 。2018年夏天 ，齊達內宣布辭去皇馬主帥一職 ，而同樣是當年的夏天 ，C羅也離開皇馬加盟了尤文 。
