趙明劍表示 ：“當時，爱情特別早了 ，自己那應該是和赵2013年的時候 ，看那個《鄉村愛情》 ，为何比較喜歡趙四 。被叫趙四那個角色 ，哥赵覺得自己也挺像 。明剑然後就一直起了這個昵稱 ，乡村像但我這個名從2013年到現在就沒改過。爱情現在就是自己因為歲數大了 ，其實以前稱號就很多。我在大連隊的時候，人家都叫我‘小老虎’ ，還有什麽‘發型劍’ ，都有 。現在歲數大了，大家都比較尊重吧 ，能叫聲四哥 。”
今年8月 ，34歲的趙明劍被上海申花租借到昆山隊效力。加盟至今 ，他已經代表昆山隊出戰10場比賽 ，貢獻3粒進球和4次助攻 。
