While there's doubts as to the health benefits of placentophagy, a.k.a. eating a human placenta, the practice has certainly plenty of traction in alternative health circles.
For Australian bodybuilder Aaron Curtis, it's more about getting that bit of extra muscle, bro.
He filmed himself consuming his daughter's placenta for "extra natty gains" (that's extra natural gains, in plain English) and put it on YouTube.
While the thought of consuming a placenta make us feel a bit sick, if you've gotten this far, you're probably curious.
Some select, somewhat nightmarish quotes include "I thought I'd better cook it and wash off some of the slime before I eat it to minimise the chance of dying," and also "Tastes like liver, I think."
You've made it this far? Okay, here's the video, complete with a hilarious narrator and woman (presumably the owner of said placenta) protesting in the background.
Bon appetit.
