For the first time ever Apple's iPhones are water and dust-resistant.。
SEE ALSO:Live from San Francisco: Apple iPhone 7 Event。The iPhone 7 and 7 Plus are IP67-rated, which means they can be submerged in up to 3.2 feet of water for up to 30 minutes, according to Ingress Protection, the organization that "classifies and rates the degree of protection provided against intrusion" for products. 。
The new iPhones' water-resistance depth is lower than the IP68 rating on the Galaxy S7, S7 Edge and Note7, which can be submerged in up to 5 feet of water for up to 30 minutes. 。
Thanks for signing up! 。

The 6 in the IP67 rating indicates the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus have the highest available dust-resistance rating.。
While it's still not recommended that you intentionally submerge them in water, it's reassuring knowing they'll be able to survive rain drops and splashes. 。
