或許應了“順水推舟”，尼日利亞客戰貝寧取得了一個不錯的賽果 ，奧努亞楚第93分鍾的壓哨絕殺，客場1-0小勝 。憑借著這場勝利，尼日利亞在非洲杯預選賽5輪戰罷 ，取得了3勝2平的成績 ，在還剩下一輪的情況下 ，領先第二名貝寧4分 ，提前一輪鎖定了參加明年1月份非洲杯的資格。
