Say, just hypothetically, that you ran out of toilet paper. Also, let's pretend here for a moment, that due to wild circumstances — maybe a pandemic — you were forced to shelter in place in your San Francisco home. And, to make things even more out there, stores had run low on toilet paper because of ... reasons?
Well, then you might be one Ian Chan, who while sheltering in place in San Francisco took delivery of a roll of toilet paper via drone. Chan shared video of the high-flying maneuver Wednesday on Twitter, and explained the circumstances to any potentially confused viewers.
"When you need that t.p. but Amazon is out, and you’re not supposed to leave your house; tech San Francisco doesn’t fail," he wrote. "Thank you @chenosaurus for the speedy cross city delivery- I owe you one[.]"

The account he thanked, @chenosaurus, appears to belong to one David Chen. Chen's bio describes him, in part, as an "Aspiring drone racing pilot." Perhaps as importantly, it also lists him as head of R&D at Skycatch — a company offering "An easy to use enterprise-grade aerial intelligence platform for the industry's most powerful capture, process, and measurement tools."

In other words, Chen appears to be quite familiar with drones.
We hit up Chan over Twitter direct message with a host of questions about his TP delivery, but sadly didn't hear back. Perhaps he was too busy enjoying the spoils of his score? Or, alternatively, perhaps he's messaging with Chen about what else he'd like delivered.

Either way, with San Francisco's shelter-in-place mandate not scheduled to end until April 7 at the earliest, we imagine the two of them will have plenty of time to figure it out.
