《每日郵報》此前報道稱 ，英超曼城在哈蘭德的城为超爭奪戰中處於領先位置 。雙方已經就個人條款進行了談論 ，哈兰曼城給哈蘭德開出了一份周薪超過50萬英鎊的德开第巨額合同 。曼城方麵認為 ，周薪哈蘭德將會在未來一個月內做出決定 ，肥约如果哈蘭德最終決定加盟藍月軍團，罗成未來將超過C羅和德布勞內 ，英超成為英超收入最高的城为超球員 。據悉，德布勞內目前在曼城的周薪是38.5萬英鎊。
此外，由於哈蘭德違約金僅6300萬英鎊 ，這對於財大氣粗的曼城來說是一筆相對較低的費用 。這樣一來 ，哈蘭德的經紀人拉伊奧拉以及哈蘭德的父親阿爾夫-哈蘭德，都有可能會在這筆轉會中得到巨額傭金作為報酬 ，預計哈蘭德轉會總費用接近1億英鎊 。
盡管巴薩 、巴黎和皇馬等歐洲豪門都對哈蘭德虎視眈眈，但是現在看來 ，曼城很有可能會贏得這場爭奪戰。
