Google announced in a blog post that Assistant will now give users access to step-by-step, voice-activated guides for more than 5 million dishes through the Home speaker. The new recipes come courtesy of partnerships with。 Bon Appetit 。Bon Appetit 。 ,The New York Times。 ,Food Network。

, and others.。

You'll still be able to get directions for dishes on the fly by telling Google that you're ready to cook, but finding specific recipes is a bit more complicated. Once you're prepped to cook, prompt your Home with a command, like “OK, Google, start cooking," or "OK, Google, start recipe." As you're cooking, you'll be able to retrace your steps by asking Assistant to repeat directions. 。

While you're following Assistant's directions, you'll still be able to use your Home to do things like listen to music and set voice commands.。
The feature will roll out to Google Home owners starting this week. The update should make it easier to follow recipes than using old-school methods — but unfortunately, Home still can't do much to keep you from burning your dessert. 。
