Getting fired is no fun, but for former Han Solo movie directors Chris Miller and Phil Lord, the glass is half full.
The pair were unceremoniously removed from Solo: A Star Wars Storyin June, three weeks before filming was due to be finished. A statement at the time cited "creative differences" as the reason for their departure.

Lord generouslydescribed the experience of shooting the film as "wonderful," and both were rather kind-hearted about the unfortunate turn of events.
"We had the most incredible cast and crew and collaborators. I think in terms of us leaving the project, I think everybody went in with really good intentions and our approach to making the movie was different than theirs. That was a really big gap to bridge, and it proved to be too big," Lord said.

We’re really proud of the work we did on the movie and we wish everybody the best."
Miller followed up Lord's statement by saying they were doing great despite the kerfuffle, and joked that they were both "super drunk right now" at the talk.
"As Phil said, we had such great relationship with cast and crew, we were really rooting for them. After we took a much needed vacation, we got back into it and now we’re writing and producing a sequel to The Lego Movieand producing a Miles Morales animated Spider-Man," Miller said.
As a result of the pair's exit, the filming of Solo: A Star Wars Story continued until October at Pinewood Studios in London, with Ron Howard taking the helm as director.
Solo: A Star Wars Storyis slated to hit cinemas on May 25, 2018.
