北京時間10月8日 ，南美2022世界杯預選賽南美賽區再戰罷一輪 ，区积骑绝目前積分榜上，分榜少賽一場的巴西巴西9戰9勝積27分遙遙領先 ，同樣少賽一場的尘乌阿根廷雖然同樣不敗 ，但是拉圭5勝4負列第二 ，距離巴西有很大分差。迎生
巴西與阿根廷的南美少賽一場源自於原定於9月6日進行的巴阿大戰被迫延期 ，但以目前的区积骑绝積分情況來看，本場比賽除了有對於美洲杯決賽的分榜複刻或複仇意義外 ，對世預賽南美區的巴西積分格局影響不大 。
厄瓜多爾與烏拉圭同積16分 ，尘乌厄瓜多爾因為淨勝球優勢暫列第三 ，拉圭烏拉圭屈居第四 。迎生而哥倫比亞則以14分的南美成績暫列第五 。老牌勁旅巴拉圭目前積12分列第六，秘魯11分暫列第七 。值得一提的是 ，最近幾年來頗為強勢的智利隊 ，在本屆預選賽中征程頗為坎坷，目前他們隻取得了1勝4平5負，積7分列第八 ，盡管賽程剛剛過半 ，但智利已經麵臨生死局麵 。
需要指出的是，在此後10月11日與10月15日的比賽中 ，烏拉圭將連戰阿根廷與巴西，且均為客場，這兩場比賽過後 ，這支球隊在積分榜上的形勢值得關注 。
