曼城最近幾年先後與曼聯競爭過桑切斯和C羅 ，费鸟曼城高層已經準備好了在轉會市場上支持瓜迪奧拉 。离队雖然曼城已經與哈蘭德達成了加盟協議 ，空缺但是魔竞弥补曼城的老板們已經明確表示 ，在隊長費爾南迪尼奧離開之後 ，购英格兰国脚他們也會追逐賴斯 ，费鸟以彌補留下的离队一個中場空缺 。
