對於梅西來說 ，決定其未來的，除去巴薩的競技因素，還有新主席的人選。作客西班牙電視六台的嘉賓Pipi Estrada透露，主席候選人之一的拉波爾塔在昨天和梅西有過通話 ，拉波爾塔向梅西承諾 ，在他成為主席之後 ，將會全力為巴薩簽下哈蘭德 。
事實上，在蘇亞雷斯去年夏天被清洗之後，巴薩一直沒能找到合適的9號球員。如果拉波爾塔能為巴薩簽下哈蘭德 ，那這記承諾勢必會成為留下梅西的重要砝碼 。
