Imagine a couch so abysmal that, for a moment, the people of the world cast aside their differing political opinions to rally together and hate on it.。
This powerfully shitty piece of furniture exists in the form of a West Elm sofa named "Peggy," and after one brave and fed-up soul, Anna Hezel, decided to publicly put the couch on blast, drastic measures were taken. 。
In one small step for West Elm, and one giant leap for furniture aficionados everywhere, customers who regrettably purchased the Peggy sofa are being offered a full refund. 。

In the end, Hezel successfully made her case and in a follow up piece posted on Wednesday, she explained that three days after her original article came out she "noticed that all traces of the Peggy (including the Peggy chair and the Peggy sectional) had disappeared from West Elm’s website."。

In a statement to Hezel, a West Elm PR representative explained that her critical feedback was greatly appreciated. The statement read: 。 "... I want to assure you that this information is taken very seriously. Every inquiry received is reviewed and submitted to our executive team and buyers in the specific area. It’s important to know that not all situations are like yours and we handle each of them case by case. We take necessary measures, internally, as we see fit. In this case Ms. Hezel, we deemed it was best to remove the Peggy sofa from our website."。 In addition to removing the furniture from the website, the company is now offering Peggy owners "a full refund or replacement of orders placed in the U.S. and Canada after July 2014."。
