Warning: Contains spoilers for Game of ThronesSeason 7, episode 7.
Make way Westeros, there's a new dream team in town.
Nope, not Jon and Daenerys. Not Arya and Sansa. We're talking, of course, about Samwell Tarly and Bran "same facial expression for 7 straight episodes" Stark.
SEE ALSO:'Game of Thrones' theory about the White Walkers is mind-blowingOkay, so they're not the likeliest of dream teams. But Redditor kinboy's recent post on the r/gameofthrones subreddit goes some way to showing just how valuable their friendship could be:
Jokes aside, their scene in Sunday's episode did serve to underline something important: Bran clearly needs someone knowledgeable like Sam to help him "see" clearly.
Here's a snapshot of their dialogue that takes place after Bran reveals Jon Snow's true heritage, and Sam tells Bran about the diary he transcribed at the Citadel:
Sam: He wed Rhaegar and Lyanna in a secret ceremony.
Bran: Are you certain?
Sam: It's what the High Septon wrote in his private diary. I don't know why he'd lie. Is this something you can see?
*Bran immediately has vision
*
This exchange gives us two important pieces of information: 1) Bran isn't currently able to see everything without help, and 2) his visions can be prompted when he's given information.
This is the anti-White Walker dream team Westeros needs, folks: with Sam able to unearth the Night King's secrets and Bran to verify them vision-style, Jon and Daenerys will have the greatest and most useful source of information in all of the Seven Kingdoms.
Once they've gotten over that whole aunt/nephew reveal, anyway.
